This course introduces students to the basics of utilizing the Unity game engine for the purpose of game design. Topics covered include, the interface of Unity, understanding game objects, components, transforms, and how they interact with each other.
The goal of this class is to give students enough foundational knowledge of Unity to be able to prototype a simple game.
Students will be required to bring a laptop with Unity 2017.4.5f1 LTS installed (free with a personal license) Installation of Unity should also install Visual Studio 2017 community edition. Assets and code for the project will be provided to each student at the beginning of class.
Students will need their personal laptop and Unity software downloaded prior to the course.
